The compact and handy pocket-sized pH meter is ideal for aquarium and plant lovers, but also for swimming pool owners. It is also suitable for professional applications, such as measuring pH values during quality control in the food and beverage industry or for quick and reliable water control.
Natural ponds have become increasingly popular in recent years. They are usually in a natural balance and do not require the addition of chemical aids. However, regular checking of the pH value can help avoid surprises. Rain or filling with tap water can cause the pH value to shift into an acidic (pH < 7) or alkaline (pH > 7) environment. The tolerance range for fish is between pH 6.5 and 8.5. Ideally, the pH value of the pond water should be around pH 7 (neutral) and remain as stable as possible over time.
Maintaining and regularly monitoring the correct pH value is also essential for swimming pools and private pools, especially if they are located outdoors. If the water becomes too acidic or too alkaline, this not only has a negative effect on the people swimming in it (burning eyes, itching). It also affects the formation of algae, the aging of the materials used in the pool (corrosion, decomposition of calcareous materials, porosity, etc.) and the effectiveness of the disinfectants added.
Thanks to the automatic temperature compensation and the use of auto-calibration, the measuring device allows the quick and precise determination of the pH value between pH 0 and pH 14 in the temperature measuring range from 0 to 50 ° C. The device already has a 3-point calibration at the factory, which can be carried out at any time later in just a few steps using the included pH buffer solution set. The result of the test can be found in the easy-to-read two-line display. The determined pH value is displayed (accurate to two decimal places) at the same time as the water temperature. A separate thermometer is therefore not necessary.
The practical measuring device has an easily replaceable pH electrode. The electrode and the water temperature sensor are protected from damage by a removable protective cap. A convenient hold function makes it unnecessary to note down the last measured value. An automatic switch-off also reduces energy consumption of the four button batteries included in the delivery.
Advantages at a glance
• Two-line display for simultaneous display of pH value and water temperature
• Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) for accurate measurements at different temperatures of the liquids to be tested
• Factory 3-point calibration
• Auto-calibration for pH 4.01/7.00/10.01
• Easily replaceable pH electrode
• Automatic shutdown
• Measured value hold function
• Optimal price-performance ratio
• Includes pH buffer solution set (4.01/7.00/10.01) and protective cap
Note: The device is calibrated at the factory using a high-percentage salt solution. In practice, this often leads to the formation of salt crystals on the diaphragm electrode (fiber bundle). The visible residues are completely normal for pH measuring electrodes of this type.
They are harmless to the electrode, can be easily rinsed off with water and therefore do not represent a quality defect.
