With this high-quality laser scanner, you can check surfaces, such as interior walls and facades, for potential mold hazards caused by cold spots. You can quickly and easily measure wall surface temperatures contactlessly using infrared and at the same time automatically determine the dew point temperature value.
The backlit LCD display allows you to clearly and easily read the measured values even in poor lighting conditions. The integrated 20:1 dual laser shows you the measuring spot on the respective measuring object.
To determine the dew point, the device also measures the current room temperature and the humidity of the air. Thanks to its acoustic and visual alarm function based on the traffic light principle and the integrated bar graph indicator, you have quick information, even with larger measuring areas, as to whether the dew point has been reached or fallen below at a measuring point and whether there is a risk of mold due to condensation. Since a long-term increase in relative humidity of around 70% is sufficient for mold to form on material surfaces, the device warns you both acoustically and visually a few degrees before the actual dew point is reached. It is therefore worth checking cold areas of the wall in order to detect condensation at an early stage.
With 20:1 optics, the measuring spot is always in view
Measure the surface temperature of walls, materials and objects without contact, i.e. without touching the object being measured. The device has a dual laser pointer to be able to estimate the exact area of the measurement (measuring spot). This projects two laser points onto the surface to be measured, which precisely mark the diameter of the measuring spot. The temperature value in this area is recorded by an infrared sensor and an average value is determined. The following applies: the smaller the measuring spot, the more accurate the measurement, and the further the measuring device is from the measuring object, the larger the measuring spot diameter. Thanks to its geometric resolution of 20:1, the hand-held measuring device enables you to take accurate measurements even from a distance of several meters.
Detecting the danger of mold
Since the device has an air temperature sensor and a humidity sensor (measurement range from 0% to 100% relative humidity) in addition to the infrared surface temperature measurement, the dew point temperature is automatically calculated from these three values. In addition to the exact values, an acoustic signal and/or the color of the LCD display can indicate whether the measured values are in the critical range.
Green display: everything is OK
Orange display: measured values are approaching the critical dew point value
Red display: Temperature is dangerously close to the dew point or has already reached or fallen below it, so that condensation can form.
With the increasingly faster beeping sound signal, you can also work by ear if you wish. Especially when measuring large areas on walls, you can use the acoustic and/or optical alarm to quickly scan where critical areas are - without having to pay attention to the exact measured values. In addition, the bar graph indicator shown on the display offers quick orientation using an easy-to-understand bar diagram and shows you schematically on a scale from 0% to 100% how close the measured values have already come to the dew point temperature.
Versatile
Due to the wide temperature measurement range from -50 °C to 260 °C, this measuring device is not only recommended for use as a dew point scanner but also for other applications. The contactless infrared measurement reliably protects you from surfaces that are too hot or too cold.
Whether it's a heating system, hot pipes, tanks, boilers, engine blocks, switch boxes or deep-freeze storage - measure the temperatures without burning your hands or "sticking" to ice-cold surfaces. This device can even be used for preparing baby food if you want to quickly check the correct drinking temperature of the bottle from the outside, for example.
With its compact dimensions, the device weighs just 163 g and can be easily carried in a jacket pocket. A practical pouch for attaching to a belt is also included in the delivery.
The infrared thermometer is operated wirelessly using the included 9 volt block battery. Thanks to the battery status indicator on the LCD display, you can always see the current charge level. The automatic switch-off when not in use saves energy - so you can carry out countless measurements!
