An easy-to-use measuring device for detecting moisture in walls, ceilings and floors using a non-destructive measuring method based on the dielectric constant/high frequency measuring principle.
It has a digital LCD display and a flexible ball probe for detecting moisture and moisture distribution in solid building materials. Depending on the density of the substance to be measured, the Compact B measures approx. 3 cm into the material. A practical companion on building sites for site managers, architects and floor fitters as a preliminary test device for all CM devices. Due to its ease of use, it is also suitable for private users who want to monitor the drying progress of new buildings or after water damage. Drying can be monitored very easily, especially when walls have soaked up water from below.

The moisture meter is particularly suitable for solid substances such as concrete, brick and the like. The value for soft materials requires some experience and knowledge of the specific material densities (Sagex, wood, gypsum, etc.). For this application, consider the Gann Hydromette BL Compact B2 model, where the material types can already be preset. The measurement also does not produce good results if the measurement is taken through paving slabs, cavities or protective films.
Application
The ball probe is held directly onto the material at a right angle. At the push of a button, the moisture content appears in the form of a numerical value within seconds. This can be converted into the moisture value using the table provided. No separate electrodes or cables required.
