In our opinion, this is the best portable air conditioner on the market. The slightly higher price is justified for anyone who values appearance, comfort and operating noise.
In principle, the "Milo" is a free-standing air conditioning unit, the exhaust air of which is led either out the window or into a neighboring room via a hose. It has a powerful fan with slats on the top of the housing, which can either be locked in one direction or use the swing function to fan the cold air out vertically. Despite a lot of recirculated air, the operating noise is quieter than with other devices in this category, although as with all mobile air conditioning units, it is still clearly noticeable.
Once the desired temperature is reached, the device stops cooling (or heating in heating mode) until the temperature changes again. As with most air conditioning units, the ventilation is always running to circulate the air in the room as best as possible. The selectable temperature range is from 16 to 30°C. The timer can be used to limit the operating time to between 1 and 24 hours. You can also program a start time for operation 1-24 hours in the future, so that it switches on automatically, for example, 1 hour before you return or before you go to bed.
The following features distinguish the "Milo Plus" from commercially available devices:
Maintain a constant temperature
Basically, you can choose whether the device cools or heats. In "Auto" mode, however, you can also select a desired constant temperature. If the room temperature falls below this, the system runs in heating mode; if it is above this, it automatically switches to the cooling function. This option is very rare with mobile devices.
WIFI function
All functions can be conveniently controlled via WiFi using an app. Of course, the device can also be controlled traditionally using the keyboard or the remote control that is also included in the delivery.
"I feel" function on the remote control
As with more expensive split systems, the remote control has the so-called "I-Feel function". With this function, the temperature is not measured on the device, but on the remote control. This means that it is best to place the remote control near you, for example on the sofa (the device must be in visual contact with the remote control) and you will then have the perfect temperature where you want it.
parental controls
If necessary, the child lock can be activated to prevent children from changing the settings.
mold protection "X-FAN" (only on remote control)
With this function, the ventilation continues to run for 2 minutes after cooling or dehumidification. This dries out the still damp interior of the device and prevents the formation of mold in the device.
memory function
After a power failure, operation is automatically resumed with the same settings. This model is therefore also suitable for operation with a timer.
environmentally friendly refrigerant R290
The green idea is also taken into account: The "Milo Plus" is equipped with the latest refrigerant R290, which is practically climate-neutral. The R290 hardly pollutes the environment, or in numbers: 600 times less than the previous products that were used until recently. Of course, an air conditioning unit, even with the latest refrigerant, will never be as environmentally friendly as jumping into cold water or continuing to sweat undeterred.

Not suitable for year-round cooling of server rooms. As with all mobile air conditioning units, the ventilation and motor of this unit are clearly audible, although noticeably quieter than units with comparable performance, especially on the lowest fan setting.
